James W. Tethers Endowment

The purpose of the James W. Tethers Endowment is to support scholarships for New Hampshire graduate students studying urban, regional, community or environmental planning, or geography.

Recipients are selected by PSU’s Center for the Environment. Applications will be evaluated on 1) the relationship of the applicant’s proposed work to urban, regional, community, or environmental planning and/or geography; 2) relevance to New Hampshire; and 3) clarity of writing and budget details.

Please submit a proposal describing your graduate work and how it relates to urban, regional, community or environmental planning or geography. Your proposal should include: 1) your proposed research project and methods, 2) a timeline for your graduate work, and 3) how your work is applicable to New Hampshire and how it relates to urban, regional, community or environmental planning, or geography.

Please submit a budget that explains in detail how you will use the scholarship funds. If you are using the funds to support your research, please provide a detailed budget that itemizes all project costs, the source of funds for each budget item including how you will use the scholarship funds. If scholarship funds will cover part of your budget, be sure to explain how you plan to cover all project costs in order to meet your project objectives.
